Barron Center Memory Garden
Throughout the year we visit the Barron Center to maintain their Memory Garden. In the spring we plant, in summer we weed, in fall we rake and put the garden to bed for the winter.
Ronald MacDonald House - Sue's Supper
In 2017 we started preparing dinners as a group for families staying at the Ronald MacDonald House in Portland. The facility is a place for out-of-town families to stay as their children receive treatment at local hospitals. We prepare home-made dinners to relieve the burden on families during a stressful time.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Altrusa awards educational scholarships to local high school and college students. We award a scholarship to a deserving student at USM, UNE, and SMCC. We also award scholarships to college bound high school seniors at Portland High School, Deering High School, and Casco Bay High School. A non-traditional scholarship is awarded annually to a woman returning to the workforce to cover training, equipment or other financial impediments to returning to work.

Welcoming Dinner
For the last few years our November meeting has been dedicated to guests and new member education. Join us for dinner to learn more about Altrusa. It's an opportunity to meet our wonderful members and find out why we love being Altrusans. Guests are welcome at every meeting, but at this meeting we make it a point to introduce new friends to Altrusa.
